How did this grant contribute to the realization of your project in regard to artistic exchange, local cultural development and/or the promotion of cultural diversity?

Given that this was my first experience in conducting a workshop specifically for wind ensembles, it was an opportunity for me to think and develop material and a point of view on the subject which will be useful in my teaching posts. It also gave me an insight on a different culture and points of view which definitely enriched my knowledge base both as an artist as well as a pedagogue - this will definitely have a direct impact on my students and audiences. The event was also an opportunity to make new contacts and strengthen older ones. The main contact that was enforced during this event was the organizer herself, Christine Dimech, who was fundamental for the logistical aspect of the whole thing. I had also the opportunity to meet upcoming artists who were directly involved in the workshops. In all, there were over 20 participants of various levels. Amongst them were established Maltese musicians.

How does exchange, networking and international contacts contribute to the development of your artistic and cultural project?

Artisically, travelling is an important factor and need for my continuous development both as a musician and a pedagogue.

Can you elaborate on the learning and knowledge you have gained and shared throughout this experience?

Mobility gives an opportunity for widening points of view. It was interesting to work in such a small country but with such a great flair at promoting its identity, history and culture. Their unique characteristics reflect in their artistic productions and interpretations. The experience gave me the opportunity to visit a different point of view from what I am used to and from what I have had the opportunity to experiment with.
